Hi there, this is César. It’s been a while since the last time we posted news about the band so i wanted to make some updates.
First of all, I want to let you know that i’ve been writing new material for what would be a second album or an EP, I’m not totally sure if the new material I’m writing it’s good enough to make a complete album or just an EP. As you may know, well for those who bought the physical copy of the album where it’s stated on the booklet, I’m the main composer of the band’s music, and also the founder of it, 9 of the 10 songs on The incomplete Man were written by me. So basically the task of writing new material relies on me, especially given the current status of the band’s line up. Right after we released our debut album The Incomplete Man, the drummer and guitarist (the twins) all of the sudden decided to quit the band to focus on their personal projects, forcing us to basically start all over again and re-direct our priority to find new musicians and rehearse with them our songs in order to play live. Since then, we couldn’t have found the right people, so at present we are just Alejandro Hernandez on Bass/Vocals and me on guitar, and because of that, once again the task of writing songs it’s entirely up to me, to which I’m ok with, but I would have preferred to have collaboration and ideas from other musicians.
Anyway, so far I have 8 new songs composed, some of them recorded on demo, but I still don’t feel that the whole songs could make a strong enough album, since my idea of an album is that all the songs on it should have some kind of connection between them and give the album the feel of unity, like you were watching a movie or reading a book, which I believe was achieved with The Incomplete Man, therefore I’m still not sure if we should make a second album or an EP.
We also, and I this is just a personal conclusion, got ripped off by a German label (Legacy Records).
What led me to this conclusion?. Well, last year this label contacted us offering us a distribution deal for our album, which we thought would help out to spread our music throughout Europe. So we signed the contract they sent us and we sent them some CD’s of our album so they could sell them, as well as sell our music on digital format. After they received the cd’s and confirmed us they received them (for this I had to ask them) they would never got in contact with us again and also would never reply to our emails. So we never knew if they sold any copies of the cd’s we sent to them or any music, and probably we will never find that out. Their website by the way is offline once again (this already happened last year as well).
So, we haven’t had the best moments lately after we released the album, we got good reviews as you can read here, but that was it. There’s also the fact that we don’t make any money from music, I mean, we don’t make a living out of it, we have regular jobs that consume most of our time, because of course, we need money like every human in this planet, specially a band like us who have to fund the recording of an album by ourselves.
In summary: All these time after the release of our debut album we have been looking for new musicians, writing new music, saving money for future recordings, and got ripped off by a German label.
Personally, I’ve been writing music for a new project. During all these time after we released our album I’ve been writing all kind of material, some of it I felt would not fit for a second Dehumanizer album/release since I already had songs that feel like a natural progression from the first album unlike these other songs, so I have decided to record all these song as part of a new project (whose name will be revealed in the future) and which I plan to record this year, if nothing bad happens. The music for this new project it’s mainly metal with progressive and experimental influences and no musical restrictions of any kind. I don’t plan it to be a serious project like Dehumanizer but I feel that these songs are good enough to make an album. I’ll post updates on the recording of this new project’s album through a website I’ll launch as soon as I begin the recordings. I will probably make an announcement too through Dehumanizer´s website and Facebook when the album comes out.
Well, that’s all. As for the new Dehumanizer material, well if we find at least a drummer we’ll record it after I record my new project’s album, that means, probably next year.

Hola a todos, este es César quien escribe. Ha pasado bastante tiempo desde la última vez que posteamos noticias acerca de la banda así que decidí darles una actualización sobre la banda.
Antes que nada, quiero hacerles saber que he estado escribiendo nuevo material para lo que sería un segundo álbum o un EP, no estoy totalmente seguro si el nuevo material que estoy componiendo es lo suficientemente bueno para hacer un nuevo álbum o solo un EP. Como lo deben de saber, bueno al menos aquellos que adquirieron la copia física del disco donde está escrito, soy el principal compositor de la banda, y también el fundador de esta, 9 de los 10 temas de The Incomplete Man fueron compuestos por mí. Así que básicamente la tarea de componer nuevos temas recae en mi persona, especialmente dada la situación actual de la banda. Justo después de que lanzáramos nuestro álbum debut, el baterista y el guitarrista (los gemelos) decidieron de la nada retirarse de la banda para enfocarse en sus proyectos personales, obligándonos básicamente a empezar todo de nuevo y re dirigir nuestra prioridad en encontrar nuevos músicos y ensayar con ellos todo el material desde cero con la intención de tocar en vivo. Desde entonces no hemos podido encontrar a las personas adecuadas para los puestos vacantes así que actualmente la banda consiste en Alejandro Hernández en Bajo/Voz y Yo en guitarras, y debido a esto, una vez más la tarea de componer nuevo material depende enteramente de mi, lo cual no me molesta, pero hubiera preferido tener la colaboración e ideas de otros músicos.
En fin, hasta ahora tengo compuestos 8 temas nuevos, algunos de los cuales están grabados como demos, pero aun no siento que todas las canciones en conjunto puedan hacer un álbum lo suficientemente sólido, ya que mi idea de un álbum es que todas las canciones en este deban de tener una especie de conexión entre ellas y dar al álbum la sensación de unidad, como si estuvieras viendo una película o leyendo un libro, lo cual creo se consiguió con The Incomplete Man, por lo tanto aun no estoy seguro si deberíamos de hacer un segundo álbum o solo un EP.
También, y esta es solo una conclusión personal, fuimos estafados por una disquera alemana (Legacy Records). Qué fue lo que me llevo a sacar esta conclusión?. Bueno, el año pasado esta disquera se contacto con nosotros ofreciéndonos un contrato de distribución para nuestro álbum, lo cual pensamos ayudaría a difundir nuestras música en Europa. Así que decidimos firmar el contrato que nos enviaron y por nuestra parte le enviamos algunos CDs de nuestro álbum debut para que ellos lo pudieran vender tanto en formato físico como en digital. Después de que ellos recibieron los discos y nos confirmaron la recepción de estos (para esto yo les tuve que preguntar si ya los habían recibido) ellos nunca más se pusieron en contacto con nosotros y tampoco respondieron nuestros correos. Así que nunca supimos si llegaron a vender nuestros discos o nuestra música en forma digital y probablemente nunca lo sabremos. Su sitio web por cierto esta offline una vez más (esto ya había pasado en anteriores ocasiones más de una vez).
Así que como verán, no la hemos pasado muy bien que digamos después del lanzamiento de nuestro álbum debut, recibimos buenas reseñas como podrán leerlas ACA, pero eso fue todo. También está el hecho de que nosotros no hacemos dinero de la música, es decir, no vivimos de la música, tenemos trabajos comunes y corrientes que consumen la mayor parte de nuestro tiempo, porque por supuesto, necesitamos dinero como el resto de seres humanos en este planeta, especialmente si consideramos que nosotros como banda tenemos que financiar nosotros mismos la grabación de un nuevo disco.
En resumen: Todo este tiempo después del lanzamiento de nuestro álbum debut, hemos estado buscando baterista y guitarrista, componiendo nuevo material, ahorrando dinero para futuras grabaciones, y fuimos estafados por una disquera Alemana.
Yo personalmente, he estado componiendo música para un nuevo proyecto. Durante todo este tiempo posterior al lanzamiento de nuestro álbum debut he estado componiendo todo tipo de composiciones, algunos de estos temas sentí que no encajarían en un segundo hipotético álbum/EP de Dehumanizer dado el hecho de que ya tenía canciones compuestas que se sienten como una progresión natural del primer disco a diferencia de estas otras canciones, así que he decidido grabarlas bajo este nuevo proyecto (cuyo nombre será revelado en el futuro) y las cuales planeo grabarlas este año, si es que no ocurre ningún contra tiempo. Los temas de este nuevo proyecto son básicamente metal con influencias progresivas y experimentales y ningún tipo de restricción musical de género. No planeo que sea un proyecto serio como Dehumanizer pero siento que los temas son lo suficientemente buenos como para hacer un álbum. Publicare actualizaciones sobre este nuevo proyecto a través de su propio sitio web que lanzare a penas empiecen las grabaciones. Probablemente también hare un anuncio a través de la pagina web y Facebook de Dehumanizer cuando el disco sea lanzando.
Bueno eso es todo. En cuanto al nuevo material de Dehumanizer, si encontramos por lo menos baterista grabaremos los nuevos temas después de que finalice con la grabación del disco de mi nuevo proyecto, eso quiere decir, probablemente el próximo año.
